TIPS FROM OUR FASHIONISTA - COLLEEN CUNEO

Well it certainly has been chilly these past few months and it's easy to start feeling like staying at home and cuddling up with a blanky and a cup of warm milk!

But my suggestion is to shrug off those winter blues and get happy, because I remember a time when winter fashion was a little on the dull side, particularly in the winter months too many shades of black is enough to send any fashionista insane - but lucky for all of us things have changed and there seems to be a lot more life into winter fashion.

Colour, prints, zips, studs, metallic's, stripes, the rules are, there are no rules and if you ask me it's certainly about time.

Now for those of you who read my column regularly you would know that I always opt for the positive side of things... after all life is just too short to sit around wishing you were somewhere else, someone else or something else!

Embrace who you are girls, loving the skin you are in is my first rule to great style. knowing how to work that back with some simple style tips to suit your body type is easy when you know how!

If you have a curvy body choose one of this season's great trench coats. It will give you a great shape and soften the line through the hips.  Choose a pair of pants that fall from the buttocks straight to the floor and a heel to finish the look and if you want to go tight make sure your fabric is firm and your panty line, well let's say subtle!

Layering is still big in 2010 so if you are small keep jackets close to the body avoiding big baggy clothes as it will make you look smaller. To accentuate your waist, belt the jacket with one of this season's wide belts and hat to create height!
